Community is at the center of all that we do at Severn Bank. Severn is committed to making an impact in our communities by primarily focusing our support efforts in the areas of Community Development, Youth, Education, the Arts and the Environment:
We seek to support organizations and programs that promote wellness and stability in our community, particularly in regard to benefiting low-to-moderate income individuals.
We look for programs that support the education, health and safety of the youth in our communities.
Our support is aimed at programs that foster academic achievement for students, as well as parent effectiveness and professional staff preparation.
We support community-based arts organizations that lend to the diversity and culture of our communities.
We support organizations that advance efforts for the restoration and maintenance of the health of the Chesapeake Bay region.
To be eligible for support from Severn Bank, organizations must be nonprofit, tax-exempt as defined in section 501(c) 3 of the internal revenue code, or a public service organization or institution. Severn Bank attempts to award donations and contributions to qualified nonprofit organizations located in communities where bank associates have a presence. Political and religious organizations are not eligible except in the case of nonsectarian social service organizations.
Severn Bank makes financial donations for non-profits. Requests should be sent in writing with an outline of the requested donation.
Severn Bank encourages its associates to be out in the community volunteering for a variety of projects. Our paid-time employee volunteer program focuses on our priority areas outlined above. This may include working at a relief center, assisting with financial education, or mentoring. If your organization could benefit from our volunteers, let us know.
